MOVIE: Hilary Swank joins Shrapnel cast
Radical Publishing has already announced that Shrapnel would be turned into a movie, and now Variety is reporting that Hilary Swank has signed up for the role as a former military officer who organizes a revolt on Venus.
Toby Wagstaff (“Arena”) has been tapped to write the sci-fi epic, which is also described as having elements of a Western. Set in the year 2250, the story follows a former Solar Alliance Marine, to be played by Swank, who spearheads an uprising on Venus, the last free colony, against an oppressive solar government in order to fight for the freedom of her people.
No directors have been hired yet, but the paper does report there are a number of directors very interested in the role, including Oblivion director Joe Kosinski.
Barry levine, Swank and Sean Daniel will produce the film.

MOVIE: Last Days of American Crime getting film treatment

Powerhouse film financing and sales company IM Global and Radical Pictures, a subsidiary of fast expanding multimedia company Radical Studios, are partnering on high-concept crime thriller THE LAST DAYS OF AMERICAN CRIME, it was announced jointly today by IM Global CEO and Founder Stuart Ford and Radical’s Barry Levine and Jesse Berger.
The action thriller is based on the best-selling Radical graphic novel written by Rick Remender, with a script by Karl Gadejsak, starring Sam Worthington (Avatar, Clash of the Titans, Terminator: Salvation), whose Full Clip Productions label is producing alongside Automatik. F. Gary Gray (Law Abiding Citizen, The Italian Job, The Negotiator) is attached to direct the film with a Fall 2011 start date.

CONTEST: Radical Publishing launches Coachella contest

Radical Publishing is happy to announce the launch of their most recent contest, “Where in the World is Radical?”
The contest will run from February 11 to March 15, 2011.
The winner of the contest will be flown from wherever they live in the United States to Indio, California, where they will receive two tickets to the Coachella music festival (April 15 – 17, 2011) and a 3-night stay at a local hotel, all courtesy of Radical.
