Tarantino returns to the big screen with this western (or more appropriately Southern) about a freed slave, Django, and a dentist/bounty hunter who attempt to rescue Django’s wife from the nefarious plantation owner Calvin Candie. HAs QT hit the mark, or is it just a bloody mess?

MOVIES: Django Unchained has a new theatrical poster
Since I started my schooling under Master Schleicher a few years ago I have started to become a Tarantino fan, enough so that I would watch any of his films without a hesitation. Now if you throw DiCaprio into the mix of a Tarantino film I’m not just there opening night, I’m running to the theater. All of that to say “a new poster for Django Unchained has been released and it makes me more excited.” Full sized image after the jump.
SDCC’12: Django Unchained getting comic book treatment from DC

Quentin Tarantino crashed the Before Watchmen panel today to announce that DC Comics will take the entire first draft of Django Unchained and turn it into a five issue series that arrives in November.
“Django Unchained takes the movie’s story and tells it as a comic book,” said Tarantino, “with story aspects that aren’t in the movie. The comic will literally be the entire movie’s script.”
And what is the big secret Tarantino hides in the tale?

On the Next Major Spoilers Podcast: Preacher Volume 1

This week on the Major Spoilers Podcast, the Major Spoilers Crew are taking on Preacher Volume 1 from DC Comics.
Amazon description:
Here’s a book guaranteed to offend a bunch of people, not only because of its profuse profanity and graphic violence, but because it’s the epitome of iconoclasm. Like a brutal accident, you can’t watch but you can’t turn away. The story follows an ex-preacher man, Jesse, who has become disgusted with God’s abandoning of His responsibilities. So Jesse starts off into the wilds of Texas with his hitman girlfriend and new best friend (a vampire) to find God so that he can give Him a piece of his mind. Despite its superficial perversity, this book contains what may be the most moral character in mainstream comics. A cult hit in the making. Fans of Quentin Tarantino take note.
