When it originally debuted, I thought the LEGO Ninjago series was pretty rad. Then suddenly it took a modern day, high-tech twist. It must have been a great change, because the series and the sets have been going strong ever since, which is probably why The LEGO Ninjago Movie is arriving in September.

While a lot of attention is paid to the direct market single issue sales, the graphic novel sales in the direct and mass market rarely gets reported. Papercutz has announced that the Ninjago graphic novel, based on the Ninjago LEGO toy line, is the company’s first title to break 170,000 in pre-orders.
