Those guys and gals over at Boom! Studios are a pretty smart bunch. If you follow all the news they put out (nearly all of it here on the Major Spoilers site), you’ll notice an interesting trend, and can connect the dots to what is happening next in the company and the industry as a whole. The Disney/Boom! Kids deal didn’t come as a shock, and with the latest news that Boom! has signed an agreement with Harper Collins Canada, shifting trends with the distribution market could be hidden in the company press release. We are extremely excited about this
Here’s an interesting bit of news from Boom! Studios; their kids line of comics will be appearing on the store shelves of the Disney Soda Fountain and Studio Store, right next door to the El Capitan Theatre.Â Talk about perfect placement to sell you products! There’s a reason we like Boom! Studios, they are the small guy that is making it big, by doing the right thing.Â Where will this deal lead?Â I can see the Boom!/Disney relationship expand even further, and it will not come as any surprise when the company announces it will handle all the Disney comics.
Sometimes sequels do work This week Boom! Studios launched two all ages titles, announced a new imprint, and a newsstand distribution deal.Â Incredibles: Family Matters #1 sold out on the first day, and for good reason – it has four things going for it; Disney, Pixar, a great family of characters, and Mark Waid.
