OPINION: Community Involvement in D&D 5th Edition

Wizards of the Coast is starting the new year with a bang, not only are previews for Dark Ascension up, they have officially announced that a new edition of Dungeons and Dragons is on the Horizon. Not only that, but they are saying that the consumers will be much more involved with the product, attempting to “…build a set of D&D rules that incorporate the wants and desires of D&D gamers around the world.” But what does that mean for you?

Review: Eberron Player’s Guide

NOTE: Before you read this review, if you’d like to know more about D&D 4th edition check out our D&D podcast, and its little friend in which we discuss the PHB2.

In 2002 Wizards of the Coast held a contest searching for a new fantasy setting for Dungeons and Dragons. The winner was Eberron, and in 2004 it went into publication for D&D 3.5. Part of Eberron’s appeal was that it took pretty much everything that had been created for the game up until that point and carved a little place for it in its setting, often in drastically different ways than had been presented before. Now with 4th edition things have changed, Eberron is no longer ‘that setting that was created for the new edition.’ Will it still hold up as ‘a fresh new approach to D&D’?

SDCC’09: Kotobukiya Announces Exclusive

DC Announces Wonder Woman Variant

wonderwoman26variant.jpgDC Comics has announced Aaron Lopresti has created a variant cover to Wonder Woman #26, by Gail Simone.

Following months of speculation over a new, male Wonder Woman and his fellow Manazons, WONDER WOMAN #26 puts the rumors to rest. In this issue, learn what horrific new threat Special Agent Diana Prince is unknowingly leading her team of agents against. And, at long last, the fate of the Amazons is revealed.

The issue is scheduled to be in stores on November 26, 2008.

DC has also announced it is publishing new editions of the Transmetropolitan trade paperbacks to meet demands of retailers.  All the information about the new trades can be found after the jump.
