Mark Millar wants to name Nemesis after you

In 2008, Mark Millar made comic-book history when he offered fans a chance to be the superhero, Kick-Ass! Last week, Mark Millar again gave fans the opportunity to be the hero of his upcoming new series, “Nemesis,” drawn by best-selling artist Steve McNiven.  “Nemesis” is about the fight between America’s smartest cop and the world’s one and only super-villain.

Now that America’s smartest cop has a name, Dynamic Forces will once again host an auction for “Nemesis,” but this time the winner’s name will be used as the secret identity of the villainous Nemesis!  And again all proceeds raised from this once-in-a-lifetime event will go directly into a special fund that will assist handicapped children.

Millar giving away chance to appear in Nemesis

Mark Millar and Dynamic Forces have announced an auction that will put the winner in the pages of Nemesis, the upcoming super-villain book.  The funds from the auction will go help children with handicaps.

“My older brother, Dr. Bobby Millar, works with these children every day and he explained to me what a difference it would make if they could get a new bus,” Mark Millar explains.  “Resources are tight at all schools and hospitals in the current economic climate, but we had a great success with the Kick-Ass auction and feel hopeful that comic-book readers will dig deep again and they can build towards this pretty hefty amount of cash they need for the vehicle. Steven and I have had an amazing run of luck with Civil War and Old Man Logan and we’re hoping “Nemesis” will be similarly massive. To star as a comic-book hero is pretty cool and the intense movie-studio and production-company interest for “Nemesis” before the book even hits the stands should bode well that whoever wins this auction will get their name out there in many other media too, just like Dave Lizewski. I really hope people get behind this as the staff at the school do a terrific job and the kids would be delighted with this nice, new bus everyone has their eye on.”

The auction is already underway, so head over to eBay right now if you want to see yourself match wits with Millar’s latest creation.

Review: Ex Machina #43

The penultimate storyline of this title continues with New York City Mayor Mitchell Hundred taking time to clear up some personal and political matters before covertly embarking on what could turn out to be a suicide mission against a killer who is using the rats in the sewer system as a weapon against the city populace. To confound the problems His Honor is having; it appears that the unknown assailant is adopting the exact same variation of Hundreds own communication powers that his supposedly deceased nemesis Jack Pherson previously used to control the actions of several animal species. Plus, Mitchell’s trifecta of troubles is complete when his head of security Rick Bradbury botches a vital mission to prevent potentially damaging facts being revealed about what actually happened the day the Great Machine became the national hero who saved one of the Twin Towers.
