ANIMATION: Lost Oswald the Lucky Rabbit short discovered and restored

There was a time I could tell you anything and everything about The Walt Disney company, their films, their business practices, and anything you cared to know about their characters.  Sadly, too much boozing and being beatdown by upper middle management have forced most of those ideas and facts from my simple mind.  I remember reading somewhere long ago about the 1928 Oswald the Lucky Rabbit short, Hungry Hobos, but I had forgotten all about it.  Seems The Walt Disney Animation Studios forgot about the animated piece, too, but fortunately, the lost print has been found and restored.

TELEVISION: Failed Wonder Woman pilot footage appears

Looks like someone had the guts to grab six minutes of David E Kelley’s Wonder Woman pilot and put it online for all to see.

TELEVISION: NBC says YES to Stan Lee’s Guardian

It seems that anytime Stan Lee attaches his name to anything, people automatically grab onto it thinking it will be the next big Spider-Man, or Fantastic Four, or Striperalla.  NBC is hoping to hit that kind of gold again with Lee’s The Guardian Project.

If you don’t already know, the Guardian Project is a series of superheroes based on the National Hockey League’s 30 teams.  And with the NHL Championship concluding last night, this seems like the perfect time to roll out the announcement.

The conglom has taken a minority equity stake in the property that is being developed as a TV series, films, comicbooks, games, licensed merchandise and theme park attractions.

Tight now everything is in the Promotional Idea stage, but who knows… next year we could see the Vancouver Canuck superhero mascot rise again.. but will probably be stomped on by the Boston Bruin.

TELEVISION: Wonder Woman without pants (what might have been)

During the whole Wonder Woman in pants debacle that plagued David E. Kelley’s pilot for the television series, word started to spread that Wonder Woman would have multiple costumes, including the expected swimsuit version we’ve all known and loved for years.

Wonder Woman TV did the leg work and found this pic that shows Adrianne Palicki without pants.

TELEVISION: NBC kicks Wonder Woman to the curb

Looks like we won’t get to see David E. Kelley’s take on Wonder Woman, as NBC has decided to pass on the show, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

The drama, produced by Warner Bros. TV, is a reinvention of the iconic DC comic in which Wonder Woman (Adrianne Palicki) is a vigilante crime-fighter in Los Angeles but also a successful corporate executive trying to balance all the elements of her extraordinary life. Joining Palicki is Elizabeth Hurley, Tracie Thoms and Cary Elwes. Jeff Reiner (The Event) directed the pilot.

Part of the reason for the pass is lackluster buzz surrounding the show, which, if you’ve been reading this site for any length of time, you know that translates to utter hatred for the idea, look, and concept of the show from many of the Intardwebz people.

With Wonder Woman and Locke & Key getting let go, I guess we’ll all have to satiate ourselves with another season of Chuck.

TELEVISION: Wonder Woman costume redux

Been pretty busy today with some other things that need to take priority, but I did manage to see the new Wonder Woman costume worn by Adrianne Palicki on the set of the Wonder Woman television series.

Most of the problems people had with the original costume have been tweaked, refined, or fixed.

  • Boots – no more high heels
  • Pants – no longer shiny
  • Boots – RED!

What do you think now?

TELEVISION: Meet Steve Trevor

We know that Adriene Palicki has been cast as Wonder Woman in the David K. Kelley Wonder Woman series, and we know Elizabeth Hurley will play bad-girl Veronica Cale.  But what about Steve Trevor?  Deadline reports that Justin Bruening has been cast as the the former army vet who now works for the Justice Department.
