MSP#56: Multiple Readings Required

Multiple Readings

This week, we offer up another series of After Show Discussion shows. These are conversations the Major Spoilers Crew have outside of the normal show, and range from sex in comics to our favorite animated features.

In this installment (recorded September 24, 2008), Stephen wonders if there are comics that are worth reading multiple times for pleasure only. What other titles does the crew read?

Major Spoilers Costume Contest 2008: Meet the Entrants

picon01.jpg

Oh boy, did we get a lot of people entering the second annual Major Spoilers Costume Contest.  There were over 50 entries from 20 entrants (yes, some people entered multiple times).  Personally, I think all those who entered the contest deserve kudos for taking the time to make their costume and sending it out for the world to see.  You can tell some of the entrants spent a great deal of time on their costumes, and really get into their work.

Without further ado, take the jump to see all the entrants for this year’s contest.

UPDATE:  Voting is now open!

UPDATE #2:  WINNER ANNOUNCED!

Minifig Turns 30

Classic_red.jpg

I remember the first time I saw the modern LEGO minifigs – it was September 1978, and my parent got me the Space Cruiser set (the first of many space themed LEGO sets).  I loved the idea that you could actually pose these figures, have them fight, dance, and travel through your imagination.

The LEGO(R) minifigure was first manufactured and packed into a LEGO set the morning of August 25, 1978. Children of all ages and LEGO employees around the world today commemorated the milestone by kicking off Go Miniman Go!, a movement that aims to inspire generations of LEGO children to reconnect with the adventures their minifigures enabled them to live through creative, constructive LEGO play.

Take the jump for some interesting facts about our little 2-inch friends.

More Wolverine Printings on the Way

Wolverine_66_Picon.jpg

The Old Man Logan story continues int he pages of Wolverine, and has done well enough to sell out multiple times.  Marvel has announced Wolverine #66 is heading back for a third printing, while Wolverine #67 will get a second printing treatment.

Hawkeye may be blind but he’s still just as dangerous as he was 50 some odd years ago. Logan claims he’s broken and Clint is doing all he can to get him to pop the claws. What will it take to “un-break” his spirit? Curious to where the Spider-Buggy came from? Be sure to check out Wolverine #67 Second Printing Variant for the all the answers!

I’m digging the panel featuring people worshiping the fallen Thor hammer.
