Kate Beckinsale looks toasty in Whiteout

The official movie trailer for the Kate Beckensale and Gabriel Macht Whiteout movie hit the Intardwebz with a fury today.  The film is based on the Greg Rucka/Steve Lieber thriller with the same name from Oni Press.

A U.S. deputy marshal, (Kate Beckinsale), the only one assigned to Antarctica, must investigate a murder on the frozen continent within three days before the arctic winter begins. She crosses paths with a U.N. operative (Gabriel Macht), also investigating the murder.

Watchmen Trade Shoots to Number 2 at Amazon

Following the most amazing launch of the Watchmen trailer last week (and that really cool shot by shot comparison of the trailer and the graphic novel), DC is reporting that it has ordered 200,000 new copies of the trade to meet demand.

“Its all very exciting,” DC’s President Paul Levitz said. “A graphic-novel went to No. 2 on Amazon because of a movie trailer. That’s not something we’ve seen before.”

At least DC is acting now in trying to meet demand. When 300 hit theaters, Dark Horse wasn’t able to get the book on shelves fast enough, frustrating many interested in the original source material.

Watchmen Trailer, Shot by Shot with Graphic Novel

I know people who have watched the Watchmen trailer over 100 times since it was released last week.  I’ve also seen people bicker back and forth over the shots seen, and how close of an adaptation Zack Snyder will bring to the big screen.

To help in your decision making, Major Spoilers has gone through the trailer and compared shots from the movie with shots from the graphic novel.  Take the jump to see the comparison for yourself.

UPDATE: Looks like Empire Online beat me to the punch by a couple of hours on this story.  I honestly didn’t realize it until just a few minutes ago when submitting the story to DIGG.  That’s what I get for sleeping last night.
