Press Release
As proclaimed at the Powered by Creators panel at Emerald City Comicon, Dark Horse Comics is set to publish The Victories, a very adult superhero adventure written and drawn by Eisner Award winner Michael Avon Oeming (Powers, Takio, Rapture).

We’ve seen the cast build up for the FX pilot of Powers, and today we learn that Jason Patric has been tapped to play Detective Christian Walker, the hero turned detective with a secret past.
Charles H. Eglee, Michael Dinner, David Engel and Bendis are executive producing for Sony Pictures TV and FX Prods. Filming is slated for mid-summer in Chicago. If Powers goes to series, it will mark Patric’s first regular series gig.
I really hope audience’s interest in cop dramas will push this pilot into a full series. Of course the pilot needs to be really good, so here’s hoping.
And yes, Jason Patric did play Michael in The Lost Boys (1987).

Brian Michael Bendis has confirmed that the FX network is actively developing a pilot based on the BMB/Michael Avon Oeming Powers series.
“‘Powers’ is in active development as a pilot at FX,†Bendis told MTV. “I just handed in a draft to the network and we’re getting our notes from the network as soon as this thing is over. So next week I’ll get the notes, and as long as they don’t involve sock puppets and some sort of orgy scene that I’m not interested in, then hopefully it will go in the right direction.â€
While active development is a long way from post production, it is good a major cable network is looking at a superhero title for its next gritty crime drama series.
