April 1st aka April Fools Day is spent by most checking out their favorite websites and then completely giving up on the Internet due to everything being utterly made-up. Thankfully, Marvel didn’t spend the day faking out their fans and released the latest Marvel Super Heroes: What the–?! The Age of Ultron.
Earth has been marked as an “Avengers World”, protected by Iron Man, Captain America, Thor and more from the deadliest threats facing humanity. A powerful and destructive race is on a collision course with Earth and the only thing in their path is the Avengers! But even Earth’s Mightiest Heroes realize the one hope of defeating this dire threat is to unite every great hero across the cosmos…because only with a united Avengers Universe is there any chance of survival!
Or – “SWEEET CHRISTMAS!”
The Marvel Universe is a strange and occasionally terrible place. At any moment, a building could collapse because of rogue Hulks, or your entire neighborhood could get utterly annihilated by alien space bugs. Even back in the day, before the X-Men outnumbered the combined population of every town I lived in before the age of 17, it was a difficult place to live, where a random prison guard with a grudge could change your life forever (and that’s AFTER you were betrayed by your oldest friend and your first love murdered before your eyes.) Not everyone could bounce back from that kind of tragedy. Coming back from a situation that untenable takes the kind of person with steel-hard resolve to keep punching, to fight for justice even when everything falls apart around you. This, then, is your Major Spoilers Hero History of Carl Lucas, known to some as the Hero For Hire, to others as Power Man, but best known as… LUKE CAGE!
This July, red hot writer Sam Humphries (Uncanny X-Force) and artist Andre Araujo (FF), shine an entirely new light on an all-new, all-android Avengers team – Avengers A.I.! Spinning out of the critically acclaimed event Age Of Ultron, Avengers A.I. sends fans deeper into the synthetic core of the Marvel Universe, great for new and lapsed readers alike!
Big things are happening in the next week for the Superior Spider-Man, and Marvel sent a teaser to get us thinking what will happen next to the villain in heroes clothing.
Marvel has announced that Paolo Rivera has been tapped to create the variant cover for Guardians of the Galaxy #2 by Brian Michael Bendis, Steve McNiven and Sara Pichelli.
The Guardians of the Galaxy are one of those teams that have a very passionate and loyal fan base that basically single handily drive their sales, rarely picking up new readers along the way. They seem to have enough appeal to warrant an upcoming movie, however, so obviously someone at Marvel thinks they can appeal to a larger audience. It was most likely the intent, as with the rest of Marvel NOW, to try to capitalize on this potential with the new Guardians of the Galaxy #1. Does it succeed? Does it fail? Find out with this cosmic, out of this world, Major Spoilers review! More After the Jump
Or – “What’s The Deal With Medusa?”
In the first five issues of this book, the makeshift Fantastic Four team has taken over the Future Foundation, crossed swords with the Mole Man, discovered the original team to be dead (or, at least, so says a maimed and aged Johnny Storm) and decided to take on Doctor Doom. Also, one of their members is acting shady as heck, and the cover this month has foreboding written all over it. What’s next? Your Major Spoilers review awaits!
Director of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 has taken to Twitter once again this week to let the world know that The Office star B.J. Novak has joined the cast.
Dive into the immersive world of ABC’s Once Upon a Time like never before as Marvel Entertainment and Disney-ABC Television Group are proud to announce Once Upon a Time: Shadow of the Queen, an all-new original graphic novel hardcover inspired by the popular series. Plotted by series writer & co-producer Dan Thomsen, and co-written by Corinna Bechko (Planet of The Apes), this landmark release fits into the official continuity of Once Upon a Time and features the lush art of Nimit Malavia, Vasilis Lolos, Mike Del Mundo, Stephanie Hans and Mike Henderson.
Marvel sent Major Spoilers a sneak peek of this week’s installment of Ultimate Spider-Man, which features Carnage making his appearance in the animated universe. I just wonder if the surprise reveal from the USM comics will play out here as well.
Or – “Take It From Me, Parents Just Don’t Understand.”
Young Avengers has been kind of an oddball title, but in a very good way, as Gillen & McKelvie have delivered quirky, character-driven teenage action that is nonetheless firmly set in the Marvel Universe. Now that they’ve been able to escape Teddy’s nefarious mom, only to leap straight into the clutches of Loki’s insidious father. Are the Young Avengers doomed before they’ve even fully assembled? Your Major Spoilers review awaits!
