Do you play LittleBigPlanet? Marvel heroes come to game

At the San Diego Comic Con, it was announced that the House of Ideas is sending three of its heroes to the LittleBigPlanet universe and turning them into Sackboys costumes.

Marvel showed off three concept renders of Sackboys that may be coming to the PlayStation 3 exclusive, but did not offer dates for the costumes, nor confirm that this would be the extent of the Marvel characters that would be licensed for LittleBigPlanet use.

What other Marvel character would you want to play in the game?

Marvel announces Strange Tales MAX

Marvel has announced Strange Tale MAX #1 is headed our way in September.  The 48-page anthology features stories by Paul Pope, Peter Bagge, Molly Crabapple &John Leavitt, Junko Mizuno, Dash Shaw, James Kochalka, Johnny Ryan, Michael Kupperman, Nick Bertozzi, Nicholas Gurewich, Jason and more, and features a plethora of Marvel characters from Spider-Man to the Hulk.

“Flat out, this is the apex of human artistic achievement. This is it. The end. The crowning result of tens of millions of years of evolution, right here, in three packed-to-the-gills issues,” said Editor John Barber. “The philosophy of the book was to have these creators from ‘indy’ or ‘alternative’ or “literary” or ‘art’ comics come in and do what they do best. I think Marvel readers will really dig seeing radically different versions of their favorite characters, and the fans of these cartoonists will get to see the creators work in a milieu they never thought they’d get to see. It’s win-win. It’s really the best of both worlds.”

Sounds like an interesting series, and with it being part of the MAX line, anything could happen.

Quote of the Week

ednorton.jpg

“The minds of Marvel are sometimes opaque,” Norton told MTV News. “I won’t say [they’re] obtuse, but I don’t have any idea what they want to do.”

Norton said he’s also been kept in the dark regarding any plans for him, in his role as Hulk’s alter-ego Bruce Banner, to appear in Marvel’s big team-up project, “The Avengers.” The film, which is expected to feature The Hulk, Iron Man, Captain America and several other Marvel characters, is currently scheduled for a 2011 release.
“They’ve got this notion of collecting the Marvel characters,” said Norton, who appeared a bit skeptical of Marvel’s ambitious plans for the project. “Who knows where they’ll go?”

Dustin Nguyen at it Again

gotham_min52picon.jpg

If you loved Dustin Nguyen’s take on the Marvel characters, be prepared to be blown away with this mini version of the Batman Universe.

im sure the costumes are all way off and some are more deformed than others. but for some reason, i have no problem improvising costumes and features for Gotham characters. i figure if they looked cool to me, that was fun enough. unlike the marvel one i did here, where i actually had to go out to look for costumes and ref what they kinda look like.

Very very cool.  You can see more of Dustin’s sketches, and sneaks of his Detective Comics stuff at his blog site.
