DVD Review: Comic Book: The Movie

For this review, I’d like to pull back the “magic curtain” for just a moment, and ask for a little audience participation. Don’t worry, you won’t be graded on any of this. I’d like you all to close your eyes and picture your favorite comic book or literary character. Imagine that your character has just been adapted into a big budget summer blockbuster film. Sounds great, right? Now picture your character on the big screen in all its glory except… your character has been run through the “Hollywood Machine” – origins and motives changed, costumes and sets altered to a super-gritty, hyper-realistic state. Its to the point where the character has become almost unrecognizable. How does that make you feel?

SDCC’09: Snyder to give live Watchmen commentary at con and BD Live

Warner Bros. Home Entertainment Group will give fans the ultimate inside track on two landmark releases at Comic-Con International on Saturday, July 25 with a Live Community Screening of Watchmen: Director’s Cut via BD-Live, and a first-look panel for the breakout Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment game, Batman: Arkham Asylum.

The event begins at 8:30 p.m. in Room 6BCF of the San Diego Convention Center.
