The Good Ol’ Days: Star Wars Cast Back Then

I watch the original Star Wars trilogy every couple of years, but looking at this picture of the cast from way back when, has me feeling a bit nostalgic.
SDCC’09: Lightsaber chopsticks – Me Want!
Here’s something every fan of Star Wars and Japanese cuisine will need to add to their gift list – Lightsaber Chopsticks.
Lightsabers merge with Japanese culture and “Chop Sabers†emerge! Suitable for eating sushi or defending the galaxy, the Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader lightsabers measure over 9†long, with the blades cast in translucent material. The smaller “children’s size†Yoda saber measures approximately 8†long. As a special bonus each set includes translucent Star Wars logo chopstick rests.
The utensils will arrive in stores in 2010, but those attending the San Diego Comic-Con and participate in the Chop Saber Duels, will take home a set as a prize. I’m going to have to get me a pair of these so the next time we’re out eating sushi, I can whip these out and impress all the ladies in the house. The only thing that would make these totally awesome, if if they would make that “vroom-vwoom” sound when you moved them around.
SDCC’09: USB flash drives join the dark side
Mimoco is turning its Mimobot flash drives to the dark side with the company’s fourth Star Wars collection. In this batch, the Sith Lords make an appearance as Darth Vader, Anakin Skywalker, Captain Rex, and Darth Maul devices.
Completing the cycle later this summer as a San Diego Comic Con exclusive, Mimoco will release a third, limited-edition version of Darth Vader Unmasked. When the helmet is removed, the unmasked visage will be the face of Luke Skywalker, as Luke imagined himself on Dagobah in Star Wars:Episode V The Empire Strikes Back. Only 500 Darth Vader Unmasked Luke Skywalker MIMOBOT drives will be produced and they will only be available at Mimoco’s Comic Con booth #2913 in the STAR WARS Pavilion on July 22 – 26.
The Captain Rex drive also has a removable helmet, featuring the scowling face of Rex underneath.

Yup, it’s another rapid-fire roundup of news from the New York Comic Con. This time Dark Horse takes the spotlight with new of Goon and Star Wars.
Spend Lots of Money on Hollywood Memorabilia
I think there are a half dozen things on at this auction I’m interested in putting on my Christmas list. The utility belt worn by Adam West in the 1960s Batman television series is only going for between $4,000 and $6,000, the outfits worn in the Buckaroo Banzai movie are only $3,000 each, and the cowl that Christian Bale wore in Batman Begins is a bargain at $20,000. Too bad that Major Spoilers Tip Jar is empty (joke). This is the 33rd Annual Profiles in History Auction that kicks off on December 11.
