Logan’s Run gets a writer

The remake of Logan’s Run may have found a writer in Alex Garland, according to The Hollywood Reporter.  The scribe is being wooed by Warner Bros to update the 1967 novel by William F. Nolan, that was later turned into the Michael York movie in 1976.

“Run” is set in a future society that demands the death of everyone upon reaching a certain age. Anyone who veers from that destiny is dubbed a “runner” and is hunted by operatives known as Sandmen. Logan is a Sandman who is forced to go on the run.

For Major Spoilerites, Garland’s name is probably most familiar as the writer of 28 Days Later.
