Image Comics has announced Tori Amos will appear at the San Diego Comic-Con to promote her anthology Comic Book Tattoo.
Amos’ Comic Con plans begin with LIVE FROM COMIC-CON, TORI AMOS & COMIC BOOK TATTOO, hosted by comics and music critic Douglas Wolk, on Saturday, July 26 from 11:30 AM – 12:30 PM. The signing will be held the same day at 2PM. Fans wishing to meet the acclaimed songwriter can receive tickets to her signing, limited to two hundred fans, by purchasing a copy of COMIC BOOK TATTOO at the Image Comics booth (#2729). Tickets will be made available in increments with twenty on Wednesday, seventy five on Thursday, another seventy five on Friday and thirty on Saturday.
Comic Book Tattoo is 480 pages, and arrives July 23, 2008.
Ohio State University has a new Jeff Smith exhibit going on that features Jeff’s work for the college newspaper. The strips, called Thorn, is being collected into a tome that has been signed by Jeff.
If you want all things Smith, you better hurry; the collection is limited to 500 signed copies, and with a $25 cover price, will go fast. If you want your Jeff Smith: Before Bone collection, head over to the Cartoon Research Library before they are all gone.
Diamond Select Toys has announced the third wave of Stargate Atlantis figures will be based on the third and fourth season of the popular Sci-Fi Channel show.
The core release will include Dr. Samantha Carter and Dr. Jennifer Keller as they appeared in the show’s fourth season, a hulking and imposing Wraith Drone, the limited Garrison Uniform Sheppard in his on-base black uniform and the Previews Exclusive warrior, Ronon Dex. Also included in each case will be a special edition case-topper figure featuring a new version of a Stargate legend – General Jack O’Neill in his blue garrison uniform! This limited figure will be included within each sealed case and will only be available from your local retailer.
All the figures are sculpted by Jean St. Jean Studios and will stand 7-inches tall.
