Nintendo announced a new product today, the Nintendo 2DS. A new addition to the Nintendo 3DS line, the 2DS will be able to play all of the games available to the 3DS with the same online capability without the use of the 3D function. This allows Nintendo to set the initial price-tag of the 2DS at $129.99, making it a bit more affordable than its fully three dimensional counterpart. The system will launch on Oct 12, just in time for the next generation of the Pokemon franchise, Pokemon X and Pokemon Y, to come out week later. Check out the announcement trailer below.
