Image Comics sent a sneak peek of titles arriving in October 02, 2013.
In the future, our world is separated by territories run by wealthy, powerful families. Any people that are not part of the ruling family are known as Wastes. Within each territory is a Lazarus, a member of the family that is heavily enhanced with the latest drugs and technology money can afford. He or she is the protector of the territory and loyal agent to the family’s interests. Forever is the Lazarus of the Carlyle family. After a recent attack by their rival family, the Morrays, Forever believes there is a traitor within the Carlyles.
Image Comics released a sneak peek of titles arriving in stores this week. Take the jump for a look at Lazarus #1, Mind the Gap #13, Morning Glories #30, Secret #3, Sex #6, Skullkickers #24, Super Dinosaur #20, and Think Tank #9.
LAZARUS, the upcoming Image Comics series by the Eisner Award-winning creative team of Greg Rucka (Whiteout, Queen and Country, Gotham Central, Wonder Woman) and Michael Lark (Daredevil, Gotham Central, Scene of the Crime) is set in a dystopia where society has reverted to a feudal state — the elite Families who control the wealth control every aspect of the world, and those without are their vassals and serfs. Serving these powerful Families are individuals called their “Lazarus” — lethal protectors of their families’ interests. The Lazarus of the Carlyle Family, which controls the world’s genetic research and development, is a young woman called Forever. Her story starts the day she is killed.
What’s that saying? You can’t keep a good man down? Such is the case with Lazarus, the brand new title from AAM/Markosia, publishers of King Kong, Startship Troopers, and The Boy Who Made Silence.
Publisher Harry Markos, states, “I am very excited about this title, which I am confident is going to attract a ton of positive reviews. Joseph’s script is amazing, you can see almost immediately that this is no ordinary take on the Lazarus story but something quite unique and remarkable. The stunning art brings the tale to life and immerses the reader into a dark and frenetic world filled with all manner of intrigue and action. It’s going to surprise a lot of people!”
AAM/Markosia has sent Major Spoilers a sneak peek at the six issue mini-series that arrives in June.
AAM/Markosia has launched a brand new website to showcase their titles. The site features news, previews, and links for everything related to the company.
Publisher Harry Markos explains, “We have a very exciting year ahead of us, with some groundbreaking new titles such as The Boy Who Made Silence, Lazarus: Immortal Coils, N-Guard, and Sunset to name but a few, and we are very keen to show people the positive direction that we are moving in. The new website, which was launched recently, will feature two new web comics by the end of April, as well as offering visitors the opportunity to download the first issue of every series that we have published for free. It will be updated on a much more regular basis, which was something we lacked previously and which was a constant source of irritation to many of our loyal supporters. It is an exciting time for us and we hope that we can show people that we are here for the long run.”
