Guess what arrived at Stately Spoiler Manor today?
I wonder what it could be?
While he was busy gathering signatures for the Major Spoilers Julian Challenge, Julian was able to snap some pictures from the show floor of cosplayers enjoying the festivities. Some great costumes, but I’m digging Discotrooper the best.
Editor’s Note: The following is from the diary of Major Spoilers’ Number One Fan, Julian, as he adventures forth in an attempt to win the Major Spoilers’ Julian Challenge.
Friday, Friday, Friday! For some reason I always feel less tired on Friday than I do on Thursday. Go figure. Well enough about my toils, onto the poster updates!

Julian was hyping Major Spoilers all last year as he got pictures snapped with the likes of Mark Millar
We were hoping to have a couple of articles from Julian on the status of the Julian Challenge at this year’s San Diego Comic Con. Apparently, the WiFi at the convention center is spotty at best, causing The Major Spoilers #1 Fan to resort to Twitter for his updates.
Here’s what we know so far…
Julian did relay that he would have an update before the weekend is out, so look for that on the site soon. Will he make it? Signs point to YES!
Just a reminder, if Julian wins the Challenge, he gets to turn that poster in for a most awesome Hellboy Animated Statue. That’s how we roll with our biggest fans. Want to be our biggest fan? It’s pretty easy to do…

What the heck is the Julian Challenge? During the Major Spoilers 100th Issue Extravaganza, the Major Spoilers Crew challenged Julian to collect 50 signatures from those in the comic book and pop culture industry in exchange for a kick-ass Hellboy statue.
What’s Julian think of all of this? Take the jump and find out in his own words.

Marvel is bringing legendary comic creator Stan Lee to the San Diego Comic-Con and giving fans a chance to meet The Man.
Starting at 9am on July 24th, come by the Marvel Booth (#2429) to receive a ticket (no purchase necessary) for a random drawing to meet Stan Lee. Shortly thereafter, Marvel will conduct the drawing and if you’re one of the lucky fans whose ticket is randomly pulled, you will receive a special pass to meet Stan Lee and have one item signed during his appearance at the booth from 1:30-2:00, later that day.
While it would be super cool if Julian was able to get Stan Lee to sign the Major Spoilers Poster during the Julian Challenge, getting in on this deal is like a 1 in 140,000 chance.

Those attending the San Diego Comic-Con next week can enter for a chance to be drawn in an upcoming issue of Archie Comics.
Archie Comics will be giving away a Grand Prize at the San Diego Comic Con with one lucky winner appearing in a future Archie Comic, drawn by a famous Archie comic book artist! Names will be collected during the “Archie Comics: Archie Marries Veronica Panel” on Thursday July 23rd, 11:30-12:30 in Room 4. New Archie Comics co-CEO Jon Goldwater will pick the winner at the end of the panel. That person will be photographed to have their likeness included in a story where they get to meet Archie and his pals ‘n’ gals!
Considering this panel takes place at the same time as the Disney 3D, Middleman, and World of Warcraft panels, there’s probably a pretty good chance of winning. I wonder if Julian will try to win, wearing a Major Spoilers T-shirt?

I sense a theme forming for the week. Today’s Art Appreciation Moment comes from Julian Totino Tedesco, all the way from Argentina. If Julian’s work looks familiar, then you may have picked up Boom! Studios’ The Remnant, the Stephen Baldwin reality altering, end of days tale.

This week, we offer up another series of After Show Discussion shows. These are conversations the Major Spoilers Crew have outside of the normal show, and range from sex in comics to our favorite animated features.
In this installment (recorded September 30, 2008), Listener Julian writes in and asks the question, “With the popularity of animated comic book films rising in recent years, I was wondering if you guys can think of any other comic book deserving of the animated treatment?” The Major Spoilers Crew give their answers.

I posted a quick update about the Major Spoilers Dark Knight 2 Limited Edition Contest the other day, allowing contestants to enter as many times as they like, providing there is someone different in each picture. Julian took us up on the new deal and has turned in a few pics from San Diego Comic Con.
I gotta give Julian credit, he had the balls to go up to some well known names, take a photo, and enter the contest.
Who did Julian get his pics taken with? Take the jump to find out, and see who you are up against in the Major Spoilers Dark Knight 2 contest.
It’s a day of news from Boom! Studios. The company has announced a brand new project from Andrew Cosby and Stephen Baldwin called Remnant.
“I wanted to do a comic that asked the big questions but answered them in little ways,” said Baldwin. “Philosophy and spirituality are complex beasts, but I believe literature’s purpose is to contextualize these tricky subjects into entertaining stories that speak, not preach, to the reader.”
Fans of Baldwin’s work can find the actor at San Diego Comic-Con signing special-edition preview books at the Boom! Studios booth.
