Dimension Films announced today that Joseph Gordon-Levitt (LOOPER, THE DARK KNIGHT RISES) is joining the all-star cast as one of the lead characters in the highly anticipated SIN CITY: A DAME TO KILL FOR. The film is the follow up to co-directors Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller’s 2005 visually groundbreaking film, FRANK MILLER’S SIN CITY. Other major casting announcements will continue to follow.
Many of you have already picked up on the subtle, or maybe not so subtle wording in the latest issue of Empire Magazine where David Goyer hints that Batman may die in The Dark Knight Rises.
“The final scene of The Dark Knight Rises is exactly that scene we talked about then,” says Goyer, speaking to Empire from his LA office almost four years later. “It remained completely unchanged. We both knew in our hearts that we were onto something special. I have to tell you, having finally seen everything strung together a little while ago and seeing that scene, I got a complete lump in my throat.”
The MS-QotD wants you to step up with an answer: Is this carefully worded statement simply stunt marketing to get audiences into theaters on opening weekend, or is there someone waiting in the wings to rise when the Dark Knight falls?
News out of H’wood this afternoon has Warner Bros. confirming the casting of Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Marion Cotillard for The Dark Knight Rises.
Gordon-Levitt will play John Blake, a Gotham City beat cop assigned to special duty under the command of Commisioner Gordon, while Cotillard will play Miranda Tate, a Wayne Enterprises board member eager to help a still-grieving Bruce Wayne resume his father’s philanthropic endeavors for Gotham.
With news that Hugo Strange will play a part in the movie, it sounds more like Prey than ever before.
News out of H’wood this evening has Joseph Gordon-Levitt set to play Alberto Falcone, son of Mafia boss Carmine Falcone, in the upcoming Dark Knight Rises movie. Does this revelation mean that we are going to see the Holiday Killer appear? Does this mean that all the bits and pieces we’ve been handed over the last couple of movies are going to play out in an adaptation of The Long Halloween?
It’s still speculation right now, Spoilerites, but one other bit of casting news has Juno Temple playing a “street-smart Gotham girl.” We know that Catwoman will be in the movie, so does this mean audiences will be introduced to Holly Robinson (not THAT Holly Robinson)?
This is some very exciting news and gives us even more to gossip about next Wednesday as we gather around the counter at our local comic book stores to share the gossip and giggle like school children.
