Just over a week ago Greg Pak was looking for people to take a look at his newest book, Code Monkey Save World, via Twitter. Dumb luck would have it I actually managed to catch that and seeing as the book is based off the songs of Jonathan Coulton, which is fantastic, and written by an author I’ve been following around Marvel for a few years now, I jumped at the opportunity. Life got in the way a bit, but your Major Spoilers review of Code Monkey Save World #1 finally shows up after the jump.
For those who read about the Jonathan Coulton and Greg Pak Kickstarter campaign on Monday, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that the campaign met its goal and more within 24 hours.
Press Release Comics writer Greg Pak (“Planet Hulk,” “Batman/Superman,” “Magneto Testament”), internet superstar musician Jonathan Coulton, and artist Takeshi Miyazawa (“Runaways”) have joined forces to create a graphic novel that stars the much-loved monsters and super-villains from classic Coulton songs like “Code Monkey,” “Skullcrusher Mountain,” “The Future Soon,” and “Re: Your Brains.” The Kickstarter for the project launched Monday morning and can be reached via www.codemonkeycomix.com.
I’m sure you’ve all gyrated your hips to the musical stylings of Jonathan Coulton. Now Imaginary Trends has whipped up a trailer for a musical based on Coulton’s hit Code Monkey. MOVIE SYNOPSIS – Guy, a low-level employee at Evil Corp, trudges through the day-to-day under the thumb of his boss Mr. Kenesaw. When Guy works up the nerve to talk to his office crush, Laura, nothing in his life will ever be the same. Real or imagined, I have no idea… but the idea of the movie does interest me.
