One of my favorite finds from the 1980’s was Dave Stevens’ The Rocketeer.  Since it wasn’t published by one of the big two at the time, I had a devil of a time tracking down the individual issues.  Each comic book convention I’ve attended in the recent years, have either not had the missing issues I needed, or had the price jacked up beyond having a nice reader copy. PrePro Hell is really ramping up now for the Captain America movie.  Last week, Major Spoilers reported on Joe Johnston being hired to direct the film, and now Variety is reporting the writing duo of Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely have been hired by Marvel Studios to pen the screenplay. The red-white-and-blue clad hero with the mighty indestructible shield came to prominence right after the invasion of Pearl Harbor as the U.S. declared war on Japan. I’m sure it has been on your mind ever since Marvel announced the release date for Captain America, “Who is going to direct this masterpiece?”  Your question has been answered via the trades, as The Hollywood Reporter has Joe Johnston taking on the First Avenger.
