I don’t get over to eBay as often as I used to, which means short auctions for rare comic book paraphernalia largely go unnoticed by me. But that doesn’t mean someone isn’t selling and others aren’t buying.

Or – “Boiling Something Down To It’s Essence Has A Problem…”

…namely, that most of these characters have been around so long that they have more than one “core truth.” Whether or not you like this issue (and, indeed, this whole CROSSOVER) is going to depend on whether you share the creative team’s assessment of Marvel’s most iconic heroes.
Or – “Escaping The Crossover Madness With… A Lesser Crossover?”
Whatcha gonna do, brother, when the red and yellow runs wild on YOU??
Or – “The Only Thing We Have To Fear Is… Faux-Profanity!”
The summer crossover event of the season has the Avengers in a state of disarray. Some of ‘em are goin’ disarray, some of ‘em are goin’ datarray, but they’re all in a tizzy. (Except The Protector. Nobody knows what his deal is…) Tony Stark has been dispatched to ask a boon of the Asgardians, in the hopes of balancing the scales in the war against The Serpent…
Or – “The Mood Is About To Change…”
The Serpent’s assault is in full swing, and our heroes have suffered their first casualty…

Now here is a guy that has some mighty massive iron balls. They’re so big he has to wear an Iron Man Mk I costume he made himself to work. Actually, he didn’t HAVE to wear the costume to work, and I’m sure his bosses have changed their mind about the Casual Cosplay Thursday policy. But when you think about it, the guy who built this works at a Chinese telecom company, and I’m sure all that extra stuff prevented a few dropped calls that day.

Marvel sent Major Spoilers a sneak peek of Iron Man #505, that ties into the Fear Itself event.
Not everyone will be affected/infected by the Spider-Island event, which means there is a lot of potential for mini-series and tie-in issues for the upcoming Marvel Fall event. Shang-Chi and Iron Fist will need to cut their way through the mayhem in Spider-Island: Deadly Hands of Kung Fu #1.
“I’ve been a fan of Shang-Chi for years, so writing Spider-Island: Deadly Hands of Kung Fu is great fun, especially as Shang himself gets spider-powers,” said writer Anthony Johnston. “Then just throw in a little mystery, some gothic horror, a guest appearance by Iron Fist… and more Kung Fu per page than any other Spider-Island book, guaranteed!”
Spider-Island: Deadly Hands of Kung Fu #1 has a $2.99 cover price and arrives in August.

This week on the show: Okko returns, a letter from Rubio, and Matthew makes a Thor joke… again…
