Matt Fraction’s Iron Man has been my favorite take on the character since Mark Bright and David Michelinie completed the original Armor Wars back in the day.  (It was literally Young Zack’s lifetime ago…)  Now that Fraction and Larocca are leaving, there is the promise of yet another new Iron Man #1 on the horizon, but nobody promised that Tony Stark would actually survive to be the one in the armor, did they?  Your Major Spoilers review awaits!

Justine Hammer, Ezekiel Stane and The Mandarin are working together to take down the one man they all hate above others:  Anthony Stark.  With War Machine fallen in the line of duty and the Iron Man armor expelled from Tony’s body, can anyone stop this alliance of evil?

How about the all-new, all-different Iron Man?  That do anything for ya?

There are a lot of geniuses in the Marvel Universe, from Abner Jenkins all the way up to Reed Richards, and there’s one thing they all have in common:  They all invent forcefields, regardless of their field of study. They’re all social idiots. They’re too stupid to see the big picture. They all tend to have a bit of an ego about their big brains.  So, what to do when Tony Stark gets a challenge from one of the oldest smart guys around?

When I was younger, the tradition of the comics Annual was different from today’s Annual in two ways:  First, it was actually an annual event, and second, the stories were generally not all that special.  Some of them, in fact, were little more than filler issues that covered territory that even young readers like me were pretty damned familiar with.  Why in the world would that thought occur to me while reviewing this title?

REVIEW: Invincible Iron Man Annual #1

Hi, I’m Stephen, and I have an iPad.  Owning such a wondrous device affords me the pleasure of having a veritable library of new and old comics at my finger tips at a moments notice.  This week also marked the release of Marvel’s day and date issue of Invincible Iron Man Annual #1 in both electronic and physical form.  Was the experiment worth it?

Iron Man: Stark Disassembled back to press

With the announcement that Iron Man Stark Disassembled (Invincible Iron Man #21 and #22) have sold out at the distributor level, Marvel let us know that both issues are going back to press for a second printing, complete with variant covers.

Iron Man sells out, company shows off variant cover

Marvel has announced that Invincible Iron Man #21 has sold out at the distributor level. The company says they have not plans at the time to go back to print. In the meantime, check out the variant cover to Invincible Iron Man #22, that goes on sale January 13, 2010.
