We’ve known for a few weeks that Diamond Select Toys and Robert Kirkman were teaming to make Invincible Minimates a reality. We’ve seen the drawings of the figures, but now we get a really good look at the first four figures designed by Art Asylum.

New York City is overrun with super-humans. As the police attempt to contain these costumed “freaks,” one is trying to make a difference by fighting crime. Jasper Jenkins was an ordinary drug addict living with his conservative roommate, Terry. In need of money, he volunteers for an experimental drug trial with his friend, Zander, but all the participants die except Jasper, who develops superpowers and decides to use his abilities for good.

Initially launched as part of a line of teen-themed books, Invincible is now the last man standing, and its erratic publishing schedule has caused me to forget about it more than once. Image Comics and Todd McFarlane Productions (TMP) have announced the digital release of five TMP titles on comiXology. CURSE OF THE SPAWN, HAUNT VOLUME 4, HELLSPAWN: THE COMPLETE COLLECTION, SAM AND TWITCH: THE WRITER, and SPAWN: THE UNDEAD (as well as the collected edition) are all available for purchase now on the digital comics platform, and more titles will be released weekly in the coming months.

On July 2, 2013, Image Comics will host Image Expo in the Lam Theater at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco, a first-of-its-kind event for comic book industry media, retailers, and fans.
