The Internet had a mild blowup yesterday over the announcement that it is producing a new Snagglepuss series from Mark Russell and Howard Porter. In the upcoming series, Snagglepuss is a gay Southern gothic playwright taking on the House Committee on Un-American Activities in the 1950s. You are right, that does sound like all kinds of awesome.
Author’s Note: Random Access Memory is me looking back at the specific comics that shaped my life. Each month I go back in time – in five year intervals – to examine key comics that came out those months. (The idea is that after five years of monthly columns, I will have covered an entire lifetime – in this case, fifty years – of reading comics.)
