During this past weekend’s Wizard World Columbus, I ended up part of a conversation that got me thinking about fans and why we don’t always support the characters we love.

Fan of the Thundercats and He-Man and the Masters of the Universe are in for a treat this October when Mattel and DC Comics team to bring the two franchises together for the first time.

How’s this for a bit of awesome – Alan Oppenheimer (the voice of the Filmation’s Skeletor) and Brian Dobson (2008’s Skeletor) sat down to play with their action figure characters in this promo for Power-Con, the He-Man and She-Ra Fan Convention.

After all the fighting between Doctor Who villains these past couple of weeks, it’s time to cleanse the palate with a magic show!  Two magicians step on the stage to entertain – Orko (He-Man) and Presto (Dungeons and Dragons) – but I have a feeling things aren’t going to go as planned. VOTE!

Occasionally we like to throw two fictional characters into the Major Spoilers Pit and let them fight it out in a no holds barred battle of wits and fisticuffs to see who will climb out victorious.  Today, we do it again with two muscle bound characters who are sure to bring the crowd to their feet. In the far corner (of the round pit) stands He-Man of Eternia, who raises his mighty sword and claims “By the Power of Grayskull! I have the power!” And in the other corner stands the barbarian from Cimmeria – CONAN! FIGHT!

I’ve always been a fan of when heroes from different universes meet (or clash, as the case may be). For instance, I would love to see a new Marvel/DC crossover take place. Justice League of America/Avengers is still one of my all-time favorite books!
