3rd Annual Major Spoilers Costume Contest

We’re getting a late start this year, but better late than never – It’s the 2009 Major Spoilers Costume Contest!  We want you to help us celebrate the upcoming Halloween holiday by having you – yes you – send us pictures of your bad self dressed up as your favorite comic book hero (or villain or side-kick, you get the idea). The best costume will not only be hailed as the Grand Prize Winner in Major Spoilers’ Costume Contest you’ll also win your choice of a superhero wall graphic from Fat Head (www.fathead.com).

We’ve got a couple of these on the walls of the Major Spoilers HQ, and they turn a boring room into a “super” one.

Here’s what you have to do:
Send three to four pictures (different poses/angles) of yourself in your favorite superhero costume (plus one sans costume) to us by October 25, 2008. Make sure you include your name, address, and the character you are supposed to be. The Major Spoilers crew, will narrow the list to five contestants (oh lord, let us have more than five entries), and readers will then vote on their favorite. The winner will then be announced October 31st.

Stan Lee Time Jumper Contest Announced

We received word from Stan Lee’s people that there’s a new contest for you to enter.  It’s pretty cool, because the winner will get to fly to Los Angeles to meet Stan and be featured in the DVD Bonus content for the Time Jumper series.

Major Spoilers prizes now shipping

For everyone who won a prize during the Major Spoilers 100th Issue Extravaganza, you’ll be happy to know that the prizes are now boxed, and I’m heading to the post office now to see how much the shipping is going to set me back.

If you didn’t win a prize during the Major Spoilers 100th Issue Extravaganza, you still have a chance to participate in the Matthew Challenge!

Prove Your a Proof Freak and Win

I’m sure if I had left the headline as Prove Your a Freak and Win, we would have received a ton of very interesting entries.  Instead, this contents is put on by Image Comics to support its Proof title by Alex Grecian and Riley Rossmo.

“Since issue number one, Riley and I have been blessed with a terrific fan base who often go out of their way with grassroots efforts to promote the series,” Grecian said. “The Prove You’re A PROOF Freak contest takes it one step further, by giving fans the chance to show off their fandom in a creative way – cut cardboard, sculpt ice, paint the side of your house, mow the logo into your corn field – do whatever it takes within legal means to show the world how much you love PROOF! Three days in a row of cool fall-like weather, reminded me it is time to open the 2nd Annual Major Spoilers Costume Contest!  We want you to help us celebrate the upcoming Halloween holiday by having you – yes you – send up pictures of your bad self dressed up as your favorite comic book hero (or villain or side-kick, you get the idea). The best costume will not only be hailed as the Grand Prize Winner in Major Spoilers’ Costume Contest you’ll also win the Hellboy Animated Statue and a copy of the Hellboy Library Edition Vol 1: Seed of Destruction.
