Han Solo’s Girlfriend left on the cutting room floor, Han still shoots first

There’s a lot about Star Wars we don’t know about; things left unsaid, information only found in the comic books, but not on the big screen, or simply scenes that were cut from the final release.  Here’s one of those bits featuring Han Solo and his girlfriend.  It’s a short bit, and if you blink, you just might miss it.

Review: RASL #4

Some answers and a few problems

rasl4picon.jpg

If you forgot Rasl #4 hit stores this week, you probably aren’t alone.  It’s been six months since issue #3 graced the shelves, so it is understandable if your brain blocked the issue from your memory.  However, if you didn’t pick up the issue, you are missing out on some juicy new tid-bits of information that will make the conspiracists chatter for months.

Bruce Willis in Another Comic Book Movie

He may be 54 years old, but Bruce Willis can still kick it as an action hero, and it looks like he’s going to take his rugged good looks to another comic book movie adaptation.

In “Red,” Willis would portray a former black-ops agent who has gone into retirement but is forced back into action when a high-tech assassin comes a-callin’ to threaten him and his girlfriend. Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Mark Vahradian are producing, and Erich and Jon Hoeber are writing the screenplay, which is based on the WildStorm/DC Comic. (DC’s Gregory Noveck is exec producing.)

I’ve not read the comic book, but man it sounds exactly like every other action movie from back in the day.   On the other hand, I’m always in favor of more comic book movies, as it gives me hope eventually H’wood will come knocking on my door to find out more about that Kung-Fu Zombie Western I’m working on.

After the last done in one issue of Army of Darkness, any hope of reading another one immediately following seemed low.  Fortunately, Dynamite Entertainment delivers another self-contained issue that sees our boy Ash getting a little lovin’.

Review: Blue Beetle #36

Well it was fun while it lasted

bluebeetle36picon.jpg

Has it really been three years?  Three years since Infinite Crisis introduced readers to Jaime Reyes, a teenager who picked up a scarab and became the new Blue Beetle?  In three years we’ve seen Jaime learn to use his powers to fight crime, defeat an alien invasion, land a super hot girlfriend, and build an extended family of those willing to go the distance to help him in his battle against those that would do evil.  It’s too bad everything comes crashing down on Jaime’s head in this final issue. Well, Ted Kord does make an appearance, so that’s a plus…

Review: Grimm Fairy Tales #35

The Picture of Dorian Gray

grimmfairytales35picon.jpg

Zenescope Entertainment’s Grimm Fairy Tales has undergone quite a change since the Belinda came on the scene.  Instead of telling morality plays like Sela, the tales spun in these tales are quite dark – instead of helping people, the tales are being used to make people’s lives even worse.  Issue #35 is not exception as readers get a modern take on the Picture of Dorian Gray.
