Welcome Back, Pierce
Except for the most recent stories featuring Jefferson Pierce, most readers probably have no knowledge of the early days of Black Lightning. And even those that do have detailed knowledge of one of DC’s first black superheroes, are about to learn a little more as the company releases yet another Year-One mini-series.
I’m not a big Mecha fan. Sure I like giant robots as much of the next guy, but I’m not one to spend hours and hours devouring everything in this sub-genre of pop culture. Freedom Formula from Radical Comics was a surprise arrival in my comic stash for the week, and was instantly drawn in with everything the first issue of the mini-series had to offer.
Arriving in stores this week is the third installment of Top Cow’s Pilot Season 2008 books – Genius, written by Mark Bernardin and Adam Freeman, with art by Afua Richardson. Top Cow has provided Major Spoilers a sneak peek of the issue, that you can see after the jump.
Top Cow has sent Major Spoilers the solicitations and cover images for titles shipping in June 2008. Things to look out for include the Freshman HC, and summer special, and several convention specials.
