TALK BACK: Ultimate Spider-Man on Disney XD

This weekend, Disney/Marvel fired back at the DC Nation block of programming on the Cartoon Network with the premiere of Ultimate Spider-Man.

As the series begins, Peter Parker has been Spider-Man for one year. He has saved lives and fought supervillains, but he is still in the process of learning how to be a superhero. Nick Fury of S.H.I.E.L.D. offers Peter the chance to train to be a real superhero and become “The Ultimate Spider-Man”. However, beforehand Peter will have to learn how to work with a team of four fellow teenage superheroes. The teen heroes Spider-Man will be teaming up with are Nova, White Tiger, Iron Fist, and Power Man

TELEVISION: The Marvel Universe arrives on Disney XD on April 1, 2012

The epic storytelling of Marvel — full of action, adventure and humor, along with complex, courageous and aspirational characters – will be introduced to a new generation of kids and families through a dedicated programming block, Marvel Universe, premiering SUNDAY, APRIL 1 on Disney XD. The new series, “Ultimate Spider-Man,” is written and guided by the most star-studded creative team in Super Hero television history, including some of the most influential names in comic books and pop culture. The programming block will also feature the second season of “The Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes,” and new short-form series that take viewers behind the scenes to meet the creative teams and explore the many facets of the Marvel Universe.

90′s Spider-Man hits Marvel streaming video

If you don’t have the Disney XD channel on your cable box, or if you are someone who just refuses to pay for overpriced drek, you can still get your 1990′s Spider-Man animated series fix over on the Marvel website. The first episode kicked off this week, and Marvel plans on releasing one new episode each week until all 65 of the original episodes are online for your amusement.

Best of all, the streaming video is free, so you won’t be out anything besides 30 minutes of your day.

The Spectacular Spider-Man Sneak Peek

On Monday, June 29, 2009, Disney XD airs a brand new episode of The Spectacular Spider-Man featuring Robert Englund reprising his role at the Vulture.

As Christmas approaches, the SINISTER SIX reconstitutes with SANDMAN, RHINO, VULTURE, ELECTRO and new members MYSTERIO and KRAVEN.  All they want for Christmas is SPIDER-MAN – dead.  Meanwhile, PETER PARKER finds his wandering eye prevents him from being with GWEN STACY.  He’ll have to learn to focus if he wants to get the girl… and if he wants to stay alive.

The Spectacular Spider-Man Sneak Peek

The new season of The Spectacular Spider-Man debuts at 7:00 PM ET/PT on Monday June 22, and we have a sneak peek of what you can expect from the episode.

In the season premiere, “Blueprints,” Peter wants to talk to Gwen about their first kiss, but before he gets the chance, Spider-Man has a run-in with the sorcerer Mysterio.  Following in the additional brand-new episode, “Destructive Testing,” Peter wrestles with his feelings for both Gwen and Liz, but in the meantime, Kraven the Hunter has arrived to make Spider-Man his prey.

The Spectacular Spider-Man has moved to Disney XD for those of us in the States, so make sure you set your Tivo accordingly.
