REVIEW: Superman – The Last Family Of Krypton #1 (of 3)

Or – “Why Wouldn’t Jor-El Make ONE Big Ship Instead Of Four Small Ones?”

If Jor-El of Krypton had been quicker in his experiments, or perhaps more assertive in his arguments, we might have an entire planet of Supermen running rampant across the universe.  Had he built one big rocket instead of several small ones, though, he could have saved his own life and that of his wife as well as baby Kal’s.  Of course, that course of action might also have a few consequences as well…

REVIEW: Legion Of Super-Heroes #3

Or – “All This Fuss Over Absorbency Boy???”

The resurgence of the Legion has it’s positives and it’s opportunities for me, not the least of which comes in the form of Earth-Man, the buzzcut neo-Nazi xenophobic schmuck who has dominated the first two issues of the series. His utilization in the Superman and the Legion of Super-Heroes arc of Action Comics worked well, but out of that context, he’s just an annoyance, and provides a twenty-somethingth or other member of a team that’s already full to bursting with people I might care about. DC’s Dark Secret

We posted the Ivan Reis black and white version of this image yesterday, and today The Source releases the image color.  Now is the time to really see what is going to happen over the next year, and as I mentioned yesterday, it looks like many of the things undone, retconned, and redone in Blackest Night/Brightest Day may be going through a major change.

I understand the full color image will appear in this week’s DC titles.

SDCC’10: Check out the over the top packaging for Starro

If there is one action figure package I want from SDCC’10, it has got to be the Starro mega-pack that features a bendable Starro (that I hear can fit over your own face for crazy hijinks) and five action figures that pay homage to The Brave and the Bold #28.

While this figures themselves are going to rock in only the way that Mattel can serve up, it’s the packaging itself that might have many needing to buy two – one for the figures, the other for the awesome Kevin Conroy recording that is just a button push away.
