The Baltimore Comic-Con is happy to announce the addition of superstar artist David Finch to the growing line-up of talent attending this year’s show. The 14th Annual show will be held September 7-8, 2013 at the Baltimore Convention Center.
So, if you listened to last week’s Dueling Review Podcast, you may have heard me speculate on the fate of someone in Batman, Inc. #8, coming out this week from DC Comics. Looks like that rumor is now fact, and you’ll have to take the jump to find out what all this means… because, you know, even though the site is called Major Spoilers, many of you don’t like to be spoiled… or something like that.
Time continues to get thrown around as two mighty titans battle it our for the life or death of Superman. When Grant Morrison gets his hands on a character, he can’t let go, and with this series, it seems to be quite literal.
Another offering from DC’s New 52 (though its getting quite old); this time its Vibe. You know, Vibe, from the old Justice League Detroit comic, or from the currently running Justice League of America comic. Yeah, I don’t know why they brought him back either. It was probably to appease the great power that is Major Spoiler’s very own Matthew Peterson, seeing as how he and Geoff Johns are the only people with fond memories of him. The new Justice League of America débuts with a whoppingly ridiculous 54 covers, with Geoff Johns on script and David Finch handling art. Will Justice League of America #1 have you declaring “America, F yeah!” or just mumbling “America… ehh… whatever…”? Here’s a classic clip from 1962′s Garry Moore Show, that features Carol Burnett playing Supergirl. It’s a rare clip that has recently surfaced, and is a surprise to many, including Mark Waid, who shared the link via his Twitter feed.
DC continues to make the New 52, well, new with constant new waves of book. One of the titles to ride in on the most recent “wave” is Katana. The title character is also to be featured in Justice League of America and in the upcoming television show Beware The Batman. The real question is weather or not the character carry her own title. The original cover art for Watchmen #1 – the issue that began the most influential graphic novel series of the 1980s – is expected to bring $100,000+ as part of Heritage Auctions’ Comics & Comic Art Signature® Auction Feb. 21-22 in New York. The cover art for issues #2 and #3, along with a color cover guide for issue #1, are also featured in the grouping, which comes to auction from The Shamus Modern Masterworks Collection.
