Elementary, my dear brother!  The Raven did it. When Boom! Studios sent me an advanced copy of Poe #1, I was certain it would fall into some boring tale of a writer gone mad, so I was not too interested in reading the series.  However, a mere two pages in, and something amazing happened; I discovered a kickin’ story that brings Sherlock Holmes to America.

Because of my video and film background, I have big admiration for anyone that attempts to do their own superhero short film.  Just finished watching the latest from Kyle Higgins and Alec Siegel, called the League, and it isn’t what you think.  First it is a noir crime story set in Chicago, and while it does feature superheroes, it doesn’t feature any IP owned by someone else.
