I’d say he’s smurfing smurfed. Luckily Cowboys & Aliens just beat out the Smurfs this past weekend at the box office, which doesn’t say a lot about the movie…

POSTER: New Cowboys and Aliens movie poster released
Here’s the latest poster for the upcoming Jon Favreau adaptation of Cowboys and Aliens.

Daniel Craig looks pretty awesome in this poster, and it is really clear in how the image was composited that the focus is on the two pieces of technology (gun and alien device), and not so much on the characters. It’s a perfect way to get the concept across without asking the viewer to dwell on the fact that it’s Craig standing there in a classic hero pose.
Cowboys and Aliens arrives in July.
Cowboys and Aliens teaser trailer arrives

Want to see Olivia Wilde nekkid?

If you are into Olivia Wilde, and your Google Image Search for naked images of the actress are leaving you frustrated, then you’ll want to see Jon Favreau’s Cowboys and Aliens, where the star strips down.
“We just finished shooting Olivia Wilde naked in front of a bonfire in front of 500 Apache warriors,” Adam Beach said. “That was beautiful. You won’t get to see what I saw, but you’ll get a glimpse.”
Asked about the nude scene, Wilde laughed. “Did Adam Beach talk to you? Adam Beach is the best. Last night, we did a scene where I’m naked in front of a group of couple hundred Apache. Pretty amazing, pretty interesting.”
I’m sure someone is worked up over this…
SDCC’10: First pick from Cowboys and Aliens released
Dreamworks released the first official image from Jon Favreau’s upcoming Cowboys and Aliens movie, which is based on the Platinum Studios comic of the same name. The movie stars Olivia Wilde, Daniel Craig, and Harrison Ford.
Take a look at Jon Favreau’s Cowboys and Aliens

With the casting of Cowboys and Aliens wrapping up and shooting about to get underway, the first image emerges from director Jon Favreau. It’s not much, a silhouette of “someone” dressed up in cowboy duds. The camera test at least lets us know the Platinum Studios adaptation is really happening, and not a bunch of hype.
Cowboys & Aliens gets release date, should the Smurfs worry?

I was too stunned by the announcement last week of the casting of Stretch Armstrong and forgot to post news that the Battleship movie has been bumped up to May 25, 2012 from the originally scheduled July 29th date. Now, word from Universal has Jon Favreau’s Cowboys & Aliens filling the spot. The only other movie currently scheduled for that date is the 3D Smurfs movie that could be a real hit overseas.
Oliva Wilde lands Cowboys and Aliens role

Now that Robert Downey Jr. is out and Daniel Craig is in in Jon Favreau’s adaptation of Platinum Comics Cowboys and Aliens flick, there needs to be a leading lady. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Olivia Wilde is set to star as Ella who joins Craig to take arms against the aliens.
If it slipped your mind, the Star Trek/Transformers II team of Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci are producing and both wrote the script with Damon Lindelof.
