Recently, DC Comics announced they would be “relaunching” their entire line of comics, with new number ones. Along with these new number ones, will be a line-wide redesign for every character. Many of these redesigns have already been criticized, so instead of hating on a bunch of costumes from comic books that haven’t even been published yet, I will be taking a stroll down memory lane, in the hopes of digging up redesigns that should never be forgotten. Join me, will you?

Interview: Cosplaying Heroes and Villains
![]()
At the recent Wizard World Philadelphia convention (which took place this past June) there was a particular cosplayer getting an enormous amount of attention and upon laying eyes on him, it was easy to see why. With his tailored purple suit, white makeup and sly grin it looked as if The Joker had sprung to life from Batman: The Animated Series. It’s easy to say that he was a big hit among those attending the con to the point that people were lining up and taking turns to be photographed with him.
Fast forward three months later and I stumbled upon the cosplayers online profile. His name is Paul and I discovered that he has a very impressive collection of costumes. After witnessing his impact on the convention crowd and being highly interested in him myself, I took this opportunity to interview him for Major Spoilers about the hobby of cosplay.
The Guild – Do You Wanna Date My Avatar
We like World of Warcraft. We like Felicia Day. We like The Guild. We like music. Throw all these in a blender, set it to blend, then pour it into a non-tip child safe container, and toss it up on YouTube, and you end up with The Guild’s Do You Wanna Date My Avatar.

One Ring to Rule Them All… and in the Blackest Night Bind Them

Here’s a look at Hal Jordan sporting the costumes and rings of the other Lantern Corps. The action figures were exclusive only to the San Diego Comic Con, and attendees could only buy two per day, which means they’re up on eBay now, with very high asking prices. Right now, one complete autographed set is going for $450.
Thanks to Gilbert for the tip!
SDCC ’09: Photo Parade 01
While he was busy gathering signatures for the Major Spoilers Julian Challenge, Julian was able to snap some pictures from the show floor of cosplayers enjoying the festivities. Some great costumes, but I’m digging Discotrooper the best.
Do you play LittleBigPlanet? Marvel heroes come to game
At the San Diego Comic Con, it was announced that the House of Ideas is sending three of its heroes to the LittleBigPlanet universe and turning them into Sackboys costumes.
Marvel showed off three concept renders of Sackboys that may be coming to the PlayStation 3 exclusive, but did not offer dates for the costumes, nor confirm that this would be the extent of the Marvel characters that would be licensed for LittleBigPlanet use.
What other Marvel character would you want to play in the game?
