CONVENTION: Wizard World reveals Wizard World St. Louis convention schedule

A robust selection of Q&A sessions with celebrities and superstar artists, comics industry and pop culture discussions, evening parties, costume contests and more highlight the panel room programming offerings at the inaugural Wizard World St. Louis Comic Con, March 22-24 at America’s Center. Legend Stan Lee, “The Walking Dead” star Laurie Holden and Harry Potter’s Tom Felton are among the top celebrities conducting panels; Neal Adams, Michael Golden, Chris Samnee and numerous other creators will interact with fans for a full lineup of comic programming including workshops and comic craft panels; and Sunday features a full slate of fun for the kids.

With the extensive reporting from C2E2 ’12, I was almost convinced that I want to go to a comic convention again.  Sure, it would only take a few minutes of people bumping into me to change that, but in those first minutes I always enjoy the convention goers, especially those who choose to attend in costume.  My particular stature doesn’t lend itself to a lot of non-Bedrock-derived costumes (Herbie Popnecker, Chuck Taine and, if he counts, Harry Knowles are all options, though) but it did start a particular train of thought…

The MS-QOTD (pronounced “misquoted”) for today is this:  If you were unlimited by time and budgetary constraints, what would be your ideal convention costume?

WWPCC’12: Chris Hemsworth to attend Philadelphia convention

Millions of fans flocked to theaters to see him as the God of Thunder in the blockbuster film THOR last summer and are eagerly anticipating his next potential hit Marvel movie, THE AVENGERS, in the spring.  This June, they can meet Chris Hemsworth as he headlines Wizard World Philadelphia Comic Con at the Pennsylvania Convention Center on Saturday, June 2, where he will sign autographs, pose for Photo Ops and greet well-wishers.

SDCC’11: Fright Night to premiere at convention

DreamWorks Studios is pleased to present a special insider look at its upcoming, 3D reimagining of the horror classic “Fright Night”  at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con  International Convention.  On Friday, July 22, a panel presentation will be held in Hall H of the San Diego Convention Center. On the dais will be talent from the film, including Colin Farrell, Anton Yelchin, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, and Imogen Poots, director Craig Gillespie and screenwriter Marti Noxon. Activities also include a fan appreciation party as well as a screening in advance of the film’s opening in theaters on August 19th.

WWCC Big Apple Con 2010: Six Million Dollar Man headed to Big Apple in October

The organizers behind the Wizard World Big Apple Comic Con have announced Lee Majors, best known as the Six Million Dollar Man and The Fall Guy will make his first convention appearance in 30 years.

“I am looking forward to meeting fans at my first Wizard World Comic Con experience,” said Majors.  “It has been a while since I have had this opportunity, and I’m glad that ‘Six Million Dollar Man’ and some of the other programs I’ve been in have remained a part of pop culture for so long.”

The list for the show continues to grow, last week the company announced Barry Williams, Christopher Knight of Brady Bunch fame, and Erik Estrada from CHiPs would also appear at the show as well.

Wizard World Big Apple Con takes place October 1 – 3, 2010 at Penn Plaza Pavillion in New York.

Diamond Comic Distributors has announced its lineup of exclusives for the 2010 San Diego Comic-Con.
