REVIEW: Hellraiser #1

What’s a Cenobite to do? The pleasures of the flesh amount to vapid experiences of pain and pleasure. Victims lack the complexity of thought to truly digest the full scope of atrocity being perpetrated upon them. This carnal exchange leaves Pinhead with only one option; alter the playing field. Hellraiser and Clive Barker come to BOOM! Studios

BOOM! Studios has announced that Clive Barker is returning to his Hellraiser creation with a new ongoing series from the comic book company.  Barker is joined by co-writer Christopher Monfette and artist Leonardo Manco on the series that begins in March 2011.

“Beyond being a legendary creator of all things macabre, Clive Barker is truly an amazing individual and I’m proud to be able to work with him on reviving one of his most celebrated creations with HELLRAISER,” said Editor-in-Chief Matt Gagnon. “I’ve known Clive for years, but this is the first chance we’ve had to work together and I couldn’t be more excited. It’s been unbelievably gratifying to develop this series and witness the visceral, relentless, and shocking story that Clive has in store for a new generation of horror fans. Readers beware! Hell comes home this March!”

The first issue will be 40 pages in length with covers by Tim Bradstreet and Nick Percival, and a 1-in-50 variant by John Abrahamson signed by Clive Barker.
