Marvel celebrates 70th Anniversary at local comic shops
While the Marvel banner hasn’t been around for 70 years (Marvel proper began in 1961, but Timely Publications goes all the way back to 1939), Marvel will host a 70th Anniversary celebration at comic book stores across the nation on August 11, 2009. Sounds like a good time, until the announcement that Marvel was sending creators and Marvel characters not to the LCS, but to Barnes & Noble book stores. That’s sure to cause some controversy among all the fun.
The complete list of participating stores can be found here, while the Barnes & Noble breakdown is after the jump.
