Marvel released a sneak peek of Uncanny X-Men #4, that you can check out, after the jump.
With Avengers vs. X-Men we saw the two teams argue and fight over whether Cyclops and his revolution were out of control. In the latest issue of Uncanny X-Men, the Avengers have stepped in to, um…argue and fight over whether Cyclops and his revolution are out of control. Is this just more of the same or something completely different? Your Major Spoilers review has the answer young mutant!
Or – “They Say That Breaking Up Is Hard To Do…”
The fallout from Avengers Vs. X-Men has been pretty colossal, so it’s easy to forget that one of the casualties was the long-term (for X-Men, anyway) relationship between Cyclops and the White Queen. Awkwardly, both halves of the couple are part of the Uncanny team now, and you have to know that the question will come up sooner rather than later… What happens now? Your Major Spoilers review awaits!
Or – “The New Bendis Era Begins!”
When Brian Bendis took the reins of the Avengers in two-thousand-whatever, he immediately got things off the ground with a bang, blowing up Avengers Mansion, killing off fan-favorites, and immediately shaking up the status quo by adding new characters to the Avengers mix. It was a thunderbolt from the blue for an admittedly shaky franchise, and brought the Avengers back into the public consciousness for the new century. Now, BMB is ram-rodding a new age for the X-Men franchise, including a new role for the original X-leader, Cyclops. Will they bring ol’ One-Eye back from the depths of AVX? Your Major Spoilers review awaits!
In an effort to poke fun at DC Comics, Marvel is releasing their own variant cover for Uncanny X-Men #1 – the 53 State Birds Variant.
This February, Cyclops is back in full force in Uncanny X-Men #1, kicking off the all-new ongoing series from the blockbuster creative team of writer Brian Michael Bendis and artist Chris Bachalo! As part of Marvel NOW!, Uncanny X-Men joins a number of titles that will take the Marvel Universe in an exciting all-new direction, as the industry’s top creators join the top Super Heroes to deliver all-new ongoing series, great for new and lapsed readers alike!
Marvel teases yet another Uncanny series in the Marvel NOW! relaunch/rebrand/renumbering/reboot. We already have Uncanny Avengers, and Uncanny X-Force, so what could be next? A title simply called Uncanny X-Men seems too on the nose.
As Avengers vs. X-Men rolls out, a ton of tie-in stories will appear, and Marvel sent Major Spoilers a sneak peek of Wolverine & The X-Men #9, for you to check out.
Or – “People Keep Telling Me This Is Good…”
I’m always fascinated by the weird things that comic fans say. I was recently told that I HAD to pick up this book because, and I quote, “It’s X-Men and it’s finally good again!” The thought process seemed to be that if I wasn’t reading X-Men, it was only because I didn’t REALIZE that the titles were in an upswing, and that there was no possible way that I wouldn’t want to jump onboard this title if it was in any way readable. ReGenesis has seemed to be just another sales gimmick to me, but I figured, at the very least, it was worth giving the new paradigm a look…
Marvel announced that Dark Reign: The Sinister Spider-Man #1 has also sold out at Diamond, and will be going back to press with a variant cover featuring the interior art of Chris Bachalo.
Marvel has announced that Agents of Atlas #2 sold out at the distributor level, and is sending the issue back to print with — wait for it — a variant cover by Chris Bachalo. And it is a really cool cover. Anything with a gorilla riding a motorcycle, and Gort from The Day The Earth Stood Still on the cover has got to be good.
