FAN FILM: Legend of Zelda cartoon should get series
Never been a big fan of the Legend of Zelda, but I do like the mythos, the characters, and all the fan related stuff that has come from the video game franchise. Shamoozal and GoNIntnedo have teamed to create an animated adventure of Link battling his first great enemy.

A second season of Marvel’s #1 animated series “Ultimate Spider-Man,” the launch series of the Marvel Universe programming block, has been ordered by Disney XD, it was announced today by David Levine, Vice President and General Manager, Disney XD Worldwide. The debut series from Marvel Television premiered in April 2012 and to date, has more than doubled its delivery in Total Viewers, Boys 6-14, Boys 6-11 and Boys 2-11. Marvel’s “Ultimate Spider-Man” follows the action packed adventures of New York’s friendly neighborhood Spider-Man who joins S.H.I.E.L.D.’s exclusive training program alongside four other teens to learn what it takes to become the ultimate Super Heroes.

Though I have had my problems with the way Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes has been handled as far as dangling storylines go, I have generally enjoyed the series. Which is why it is sad to hear that Disney is cancelling the series on its Disney XD channel.
But wait! There’s a silver lining in the news!

Disney XD will launch Marvel Universe, a dedicated Marvel programming block, with the new series “Ultimate Spider-Man” as its centerpiece, on SUNDAY, APRIL 1, it was announced today by Gary Marsh, President and Chief Creative Officer, Disney Channels Worldwide at the Television Critics Association Press Tour in Pasadena, California. Marvel Universe on Disney XD will be the ultimate place for fans to find exclusive Marvel content, including new animated short-form series, live-action interstitials and the series return of “The Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.” The block will be home to Marvel’s biggest superstars, such as Spider-Man, Iron Man, Hulk, Thor, Captain America and many more to introduce dynamic stories of action, adventure and heroism to a whole new generation.

If you are looking for something to do as you count the minutes until you get to rip open your holiday gifts, check out this animated short subject featuring Imaginext Super Friends.
Don’t worry, this is only a one off (for now) that was part of Fisher-Price’s promotional materials included in the toy line (one that my kid loves playing with). It has the same vibe as the Super Hero Squad show, and if DC/Warner Bros./Cartoon Network want something to fill that power block of shows coming in 2012, this might be something to consider putting into regular production.
