Claiming that Evil Dead will the be, “the most terrifying film you ever experience”the Sam Rami and Bruce Campbell produced remake has released a new poster and images from the film that include scenes you will recognize if you have seen the original.
Comics legend Stan Lee, Evil Dead star Bruce Campbell, “Homeland” headliner Morena Baccarin and “Superman” Dean Cain top the standout lineup of celebrities scheduled to attend Wizard World Portland Comic Con, Feb. 22-24, 2013, at the Oregon Convention Center. They will be joined by a top-drawer collection of well-known artists and a variety of activities, exhibitors and special attractions in the first event on Wizard World’s 2013 calendar and the first Wizard World event in the “City of Roses.”
So, you may have heard they are remaking the Sam Rami classic, Evil Dead. Nothing but good things have been said by those involved, and The Chin himself, Bruce Campbell. The Redband trailer has arrived, and it is full of some spooky and scary things. If you are at work, I’d advise making sure the boss isn’t around, and the speakers are turned down before clicking the play button.
There are days when you’re the windshield, and days where you’re a dragonfly on a hi-speed rendezvous with a squeegee, and recently it feels like I’ve been having a few more of the latter than the former. With a new schedule, an old family, and the beginnings of third grade (this time, I hope to master fractions) this week has been somewhat exhausting, leaving me barely coherent but still able to sing remarkably like the guy from Coldplay. But, as a wise man once said,’When life gives you lemons, invent a cliche.‘ Or maybe it was ‘Get a receipt?’ Either way, you have to admit, Ash Williams is pretty awesome.
The MS-QOTD (pronounced, as always, “misquoted”) would like to remind you that this is it’s boom-stick, asking: What’s YOUR very favorite Bruce Campbell performance?
The sad fact of the matter is that we live in a world where being exposed to radioactivity will kill you rather than allow you to grow 50 feet tall and shoot energy beams from your eyes. But what if we didn’t? What if we lived in the crazy world of comic book superheroes? Who, then, would the heroes of this world be? We could certainly guess, but fortunately we don’t have to. Since comics are always pretty specific about who gets to become a superhero. The signs are there, you just have to put it all together.
Last week, Bruce Campbell took the belt in the B-Movie actor fight, and this week we want to see if he (as Ashley J. Wiliams) can defeat the captain of the Enterprise. Will it be the chainsaw wielding, time-traveling, zombie killer, or will it be the space-faring, time-traveling, lady killer who comes out on top of an all out brawl to end it all?
It wasn’t too long ago that the mere mention of Bruce Campbell would send the fan boys and fan girls into fits of giggling happiness and joy. Lately, a number of other B-listers are encroaching on his turf. Enter one Nathan Fillion.
Head over to eBay, and you’ll find a slew of knock-off costumes from any movie or franchise made by fans. While these work during the Halloween season, if you really want to impress your friends, you want to escort them secret room off the hallway to your inner sanctum, where you can show off the actual costumes worn in your favorite movies. The Superman costume worn by Christopher Reeve, the bat suit worn by Michael Keaton, and up on the auction block right now, the costume worn by Bruce Campbell in The Army of Darkness.
More video is floating out of Chicago following this past weekend’s Wizard World Chicago. Here’s an excerpt from Bruce Campbell’s panel, where yet another “unexpected” moment took place.
Who doesn’t love Bruce Campbell? If you don’t you should hang your head in shame.
No, really. Go do it now.
For the rest of us, here’s a great quote from Don’t Call Me Ash-Campbell from today’s show floor.
With word spreading fast and furious that there will indeed be a new Evil Dead movie coming our way, fans of the series want to know how involved Bruce Campbell will be in the flick. Is Ash returning? Will he still have a chainsaw for a hand?
What do you get when to take two popular franchises and slam them together? If it has Abbey Chase from Danger Girl, and Ash from Army of Darkness in it, the answer is awesome.
This book arrives in stores on April 27, 2011. Consider this your Spoiler Warning.
