Whether you’re standing in long lines at a comic convention, driving across country on one of those wonderful family vacations, or jetting around the world closing multi-million dollar deals, you’re probably going to be bored enough to want to read something.  DC has stepped up to the plate by releasing its list of trade paperbacks scheduled for release in May and June of 2009.

This list isn’t final, and is subject to change, but what is being offered, looks pretty good to me.  For sure on my list will the the third Starman Omnibus.

Title Changes at DC

APR080186D.jpg

DC has announced a couple of changes that may alter your buying habits in the coming months.

First up is All Star Batman & Robin that has issues 11 and 12 being resolicited at a future date with current orders being canceled.  As good as the last couple of issues have been, I can’t remember when I held that previous issue in my hand, and it wouldn’t surprise me if we don’t see these hit the stands for another eight months.

The second change is an art issue as one of the short stories scheduled to appear in House of Mystery #3 by Bernie Wrightson is being bumped to future issue.  Replacing that story will be one featuring art by Sean Murphy.

Living with the Alien has become a fact of life—and death—as mankind expands throughout the galaxy. And no matter how each encounter with the deadly xenomorphs inevitably leads to disaster, man’s hubris and greed just as inevitably fuel the desire to try to unlock the secrets of the demonic beasts’ biology or bring the creatures under control as tools to build an even more monstrous future.

Dark Horse Comics’ critically acclaimed Aliens series set the bar for how the universe of a popular film could be expanded through graphic fiction. Aliens Omnibus Volume 5 collects more of these comics classics, featuring over 350 story pages in full color by some of the finest creators in graphic fiction.
