It’s been a busy week for comic book news, and Major Spoilers has sifted through the news to bring you the rundown of the most important stories of the week that was.

TELEVISION: Beware the Batman gets toned down by Warner Bros.
Batman doesn’t use guns, but in the upcoming Beware the Batman animated series, we’ve seen butler Alfred Pennyworth wielding guns. In light of the shooting in Aurora, Colorado, Warner Bros. has decided to tone down the violence.
Major Spoilers Hero Award: Christian Bale
We’ve intentionally not talked about the theater shootings in Aurora, Colorado for a number of reason, but mainly because there has been nothing positive to come from the “news” and speculation/pundits outlets to provide anything of real meaning. However, when someone does something positive, not for their own image, but to make those suffering feel better, it does deserve some attention.
That’s why we are giving Christian Bale the Major Spoilers Hero Award. Mr. Bale took it upon himself to visit the hospital where survivors of the shooting are recovering. According to reports, the actor spent time with each of the patients, and also spent time with those that were the first responders to the crime scene. According to Warner Bros., “Mr. Bale is there as himself, not representing Warner Brothers.”
Regardless of what you think of the actor or the movie, it is Christian Bale’s actions that speak volumes. This is yet another example of someone who didn’t have to do anything, but did it for the right reason.
TALK BACK: The Dark Knight Rises
The conclusion to Nolan’s Batman trilogy is finally here!
Nearly a decade after taking the fall for Harvey Dent’s death and disappearing into the darkness, a fugitive Batman (Christian Bale) watches from the shadows as the Dent Act keeps the streets of Gotham City crime free. Meanwhile, an elusive cat burglar seizes the chance to strike, and a masked anarchist plots a devastating series of attacks designed to lure Bruce Wayne out of the shadows. Determined not to abandon the people who he once risked his life to protect, The Dark Knight emerges from his self-imposed exile ready to fight. But Bane (Tom Hardy) is ready, too, and once Batman is within his grasp, he will do everything in his power to break Gotham City’s shadowy savior.
