Daniel Acuna named ongoing artist for the Avengers

Marvel is proud to announce that, superstar artist Daniel Acuña will be the new ongoing artist of Avengers! Beginning with Avengers #18, Acuña joins Marvel Architect Brian Michael Bendis  and pits the world’s premiere super hero team against their biggest threat yet! Following the events of Fear Itself, the Avengers must regroup, and rebuild – including looking for new members as Norman Osborn pulls together a fresh batch of Dark Avengers.

Or – “Boiling Something Down To It’s Essence Has A Problem…”

…namely, that most of these characters have been around so long that they have more than one “core truth.”  Whether or not you like this issue (and, indeed, this whole CROSSOVER) is going to depend on whether you share the creative team’s assessment of Marvel’s most iconic heroes.

MOVIE: Avengers to be adaptation of The Ultimates?

Ever since Samuel Muther F’in Jackson appeared in the first Iron Man movie, speculation on the story for Avengers movie have run rampant.  The one theory that continually appears is that the Avengers would be an adaptation of The Ultimates by Mark Millar and Bryan Hitch.

MOVIE: Avengers pics appear

The Avengers is currently filming in Cleveland, and much like the Dark Knight Rises, everything taking place outside is being captured by everyone with a camera, cellphone, or fluugleblat.

The latest series of images show Captain America (Chris Evans) fighting something (note the special effects tracking markers on “the guy”).

REVIEW: Fear Itself #5 (of 7)

Or – “Sowing Confusion Isn’t Always Easy…”

With the exception of the pervasiveness of the big storyline, I’ve been pretty impressed (in fact, almost HAPPY with) Fear Itself to date.  It’s given recognizable characters some recognizable moments and done things with Marvel’s big names that are interesting.  This is the issue where the excremental masses are reputed to really impact the rotating blades…  Will my positivity survive the experience?
