As I walked through my university’s union yesterday I passed a student that had an image of the Rocketeer as their background image. My interests were piqued and I headed over to deviantART to see what fan art was out there. And that is the story of how I came upon this Joel Ojeda Lopez piece.
I love seeing Phil Noto art! The artist just shared a Star Wars piece featuring Jedi Master Skywalker.
Batman is all the rage right, well actually he always is, now due to the Death of the Family story line wrapping up and the release of Batman Inc. #8 today (listen for Stephen’s and Matthew’s thoughts on this week’s Dueling Review!) With all this happening we decided to feature Batman fan-art done by Mike Henry, who you will recognize from his X-Men art featured previously.
Winter weather is doing more damage to the fine land of Major Spoilers than the Mayans ever did back in December. In the spirt of a giant white blanket of destruction continually falling from the sky the Art Appreciation Moment of the Day features another cold rogue in the form of Captain Cold.
It’s turning into a partial winter wonderland here in the land of Major Spoilers, which has sent me to the Internet looking for pictures of the different winter themed villans. Today’s Art Moment comes from current artist on IDW’s Transformers: Monstrosity Livio Ramondelli and his take on Mr. Freeze!
I have always thought the concept of the X-Men to be great, even before reading comics, but have always been hesitant to jump into the books due to the large volume of X titles every month. Thanks to Marvel NOW I have fet more comfortable seeing what is available and am even enjoying myself. All that to say: Look at X-Men fan art after the jump.
As Stephen and I sat and waited to start recording the latest Major Spoilers Podcast an amazing event happened: Phil Postma’s Blogspot page came up on Stephen’s screen. Once that happened it was 15 minutes before either us did anything else besides scrolling through his creations. After the jump is Postma’s Star Wars/Pixar mashups.
Scott Pilgrim vol.1 was one of the first comic form stories that I ever read (thanks to a recommendation from Stephen) and I have loved the property ever since then, so when I stumbled upon Pilgrim art today I had to share. Today’s Art Appreciation Moment comes from Ivan Camelo as he does the characters in a style you may not have seen before.
I was able to spend some time with my dad this weekend which means eventually talk took a turn towards Star Wars and how excited he is for the announced movies. With those conversations in mind I took a trip over to deviantART, typed in Star Wars, and let the Force guide me to Otis Frampton’s page. Beware, images from the Star Wars prequels follow.
When Disney acquire Marvel the thought started of, “What would it look like for Pixar to do a Marvel movie?” Well there is still no word on that happening any time soon, so Daniel Araya decided to give the world what it really wanted: a Pixar designed BATMAN! After the jump are the images of Batman, Superman, Green Lantern, and Wonder Woman.
Time for another property mash-up image for today’s Art of Appreciation Moment of the Day. This Simpson/Spider-Man mashup comes from Terry Ververgaert who shows Bart, Homer, Ralph, and more done as a wide range of characters from the Spider-Man world.
