I don't know if its me, or maybe I'm missing something but I find Akira to be unwatchable.  I've tried many times over the years and I barely make it to the 40 minute mark before I shut it off.  I've never taken very well to Anime all but a few exceptions, but this news doesn't really do anything for me ....
