STEPHEN
The X-Files: Season 10 #1
For years they investigated the paranormal, pursued the “monsters of the week,” and sought the truth behind extraterrestrial activity, along with the grand conspiracy surrounding it rooted deep within their own government. But when AGENTS MULDER and SCULLY reunite for a new, ongoing series that ushers THE X-FILES into a new era of technological paranoia, multinational concerns and otherworldly threats, it’ll take more than a desire “to believe” to make it out alive. The X-Files: Season 10 also sees creator Chris Carter return to the fold as Executive Producer!

Major Spoilers Poll of the Week
A lot has been said about the Man of Steel this past week. We’ve had a couple of reviews (both text and video), and featured a place where you could share your thoughts on the movie. Online there is also a lot of talk about the pros and cons of the film, with some absolutely loving it, and others loathing it. We’ve heard all the good and all the bad, but today, it’s about your fellow movie goer.
Discussion:
ROM SpaceKnight
To build interest in the toy, Parker Brothers licensed the character to Marvel Comics which created a comic book featuring Rom. The comic expanded on the premise that Rom was a cyborg and gave him an origin, personality, set of supporting characters and villains, as well as interaction within the Marvel Universe. The comic was written by Bill Mantlo and initially illustrated by artist Sal Buscema.

No one got the Dawn Parker reference?!
In Buffy Season 5 we get introduced to the character Dawn Summer, Buffy’s out of nowhere younger sister that apparently always existed but we never saw before.
hey stephen i know you watched cowboy bebop, and are familiar with anime, i just wanted the podcast opinion a little series called Tiger and Bunny. I bought the first season a couple of months ago and fell in love with it, i have never seen gatchaman, or astro boy so this is my first time seeing japan do super heroes. I wanted your guys opinion on a couple of things, first the use of sponsors, also the creators putting major brands on the uniforms like Bandai, Pepsi Next, USTREAM etc (personally i like the use of sponsors on the show), Second i feel the show has a little bit of a western feel, do you guys think people who read comics but dont know about anime would like the show? Would love to hear your review of it, thanks for the podcast keep up the good work
The Spidey OGN is in continuity and takes place before ASM #700. This is second in the new line of Marvel’s in continuity OGN’s, can’t wait for Avengers: Endless Wartime. With Robinson and Waid writing I’ll more than likely be getting this.
Kudos for the Dead Milkmen reference Matthew.
Not really a comment on the episode, but I just wanted to say that even though I’ve never bought and read a comic book before in my life, I can’t help but tune in every week to listen to you guys chatter, it’s just too entertaining!
Thanks for being a fan!
For Mattew and others like myself that care about such things…
Hasbro has renewed trademarks for ROM both in 2010 and 2012 for toys, comics and games. There has been no word that Hasbro is actually going to do anything with the character. Given Hasbro’s relationship with IDW, I wouldn’t be surprised to see something happen over there with ROM. I’d be happy to see that bat at the same time it would be disaapointing as a long time fan of Marvel’s ROM run and how the intertwined that charcater into the 616.
