Siege is a sell out

Amid all the hubbub of yesterday’s big news, Marvel announced Siege #1, Siege: Embedded #1, and Avengers: The Initiative #31 all sold out at the distributor level.  Marvel has no plans (at this time) to send Siege: Embedded #1, and Avengers: the Initiative #31 back to press, but expect to see Siege #1: Director’s Cut on shelves in March.

@smilinstanlee on Spider-Man 4

If you aren’t on the Twitter, then you are missing out on the complete Major Spoilers Experience.  And while that may be true, Twitter has become the way to get the inside scoop on what the famous and not so famous are talking about.

Speaking of famous… What does Stan Lee think of this whole Spider-Man 4 getting dumped news?

Lots of you are asking what I think of the Spidey movie reboot. I think it’s one of the reasons Marvel is so great. Here’s why–Marvel knows what makes a great Spidey film. If something isn’t right, they’re courageous enuff to dump it and start over. That takes guts–And I’ll promise you this– when the movie DOES get made, it’ll have been worth the wait– or my name isn’t Generalissimo Lee! Excelsior!

Spider-Man 4 no more, Sony calls reboot

There were grumblings at the end of last year that Spider-Man 4 was halting production. Then a few days ago, Sony pulled the release date for the picture, allowing Marvel to slide Thor into Spidey’s spot (ouch).  Now it is official as Sony has pulled the plug completely on Sam Raimi and Spider-Man 4.  Forget John Malkovich as the Vulture, Tobey Maguire is out, and so is director Sam Raimi.

Instead, Mike Fleming is told, the studio will focus on a Summer 2012 reboot from a script by Jamie Vanderbilt with a new director and a new cast. All this took place today at meeting on the lot today.

On the plus side, at least we don’t have to worry about Kirsten Dunst showing up.

Dungeon Masters Trailer – not about Critical Hit crew

No, the Critical Hit crew in no way resembles those people portrayed in the upcoming Dungeon Masters movie – or at least not yet…

Yup, somewhere Tom Hanks is nodding his head and saying, “I told you so.”
