In Image Comics The Overman series, kicking off in December, the end of man is very near. According to writer Scott Reed, “The story is a stark and direct manifesto of the future. It’s set in a neo-deco futuristic Pittsburgh, and begins much like a detective story. Wiz World Chi: Ra’s al Ghul Returns

As mentioned in the last Wizard World Chicago summary, Ra’s al Ghul will be returning to the DC Universe. Yet another one of those incidents where a character that was killed in 2004 makes his return. But unlike Jason Todd, Donna Troy, and the rest of the lot, Ra’s actually has a practical method of resurrecting each time he dies – the Lazuras Pit. After Death and the Maidens, it looked like he wouldn’t be returning at all. So what’s the dealio?

Zenescope Reveals Wiz World Chitown Plans

Diamond Select Toys has announced Tricia Helfer will appear at Wizard World Chicago this week signing autographs at the company booth on Saturday. Top Cow Unveils Wizard World Chicago Plans

Yes, another major comic-con is upon us this week, and Top Cow Productions has sent Major Spoilers its plans for Wizard World Chicago. At the top of the list is an exclusive variant edition of Ripclaw Pilot Season #1 by Tony Moore. Moore will also appear the the booth to sign along side Mike Choi, Stjepan Sejic, Mark Millar, Phill Hester, and more.

Silent Devil $5 Sale at Wizard World Chicago

Silent Devil has announced it will hold a $5 special for fans attending the Wizard World Chicago this week (August 9th-12th). The first 200 people that stop by will be able to pick up the highly acclaimed Dracula vs. King Arthur trade paperback for just $5. A signed and numbered hardcover, limited to 250 copies, will be on sale for $20. Living Corpse 1/2 Issue Available

A couple of weeks ago, Major Spoilers announced Zenescope’s The Living Corpse had been picked up by Shoreline Entertainment to be turned into a motion picture. What’s cool about this? The first issue hasn’t even been released yet. If the film does well, you’ll be scrambling to pick up the issues. However, if you are planning to attend Wizard World Chicago (August 9 – 12), Zenescope will be offering the #1/2 issue at the show for a mere .25 cents. Marvel Lands 47 Noms for Fan Awards

Marvel landed forty-seven nominations in the Wizard Fan Awards. The final awards will be announced at Wizard World Chicago, August 9-12. There is a lot of good work being nominated this year, and I’m split in many of the categories. You can vote online now at Wizard’s website. Top Cow sent us an email detailing the convention exclusives the company is offering at the San Diego Comic Con and Wizard World Chicago.
